These terms apply to your use of redunderwing.com, run by Red Underwing, LLC (“Red Underwing,” “I,” “me”). By using this site, you agree to them. If you hire me, our written agreement or proposal for that work also applies, and it controls if it conflicts with these terms.
1. Research and articles
The research on this site reports what I observed in my own testing, on the dates and under the conditions described in each article. Websites change, so results may not reflect a site’s current behavior. My research describes technical observations. It isn’t a legal finding that any company has broken the law, and it isn’t legal advice.
If you believe something I published is inaccurate, email jessie@redunderwing.com with the details. I review every correction request, and when I update an article I add a dated note explaining what changed.
2. Not legal or professional advice
Everything on this site is general information. It isn’t legal, compliance or professional advice for your situation, and reading it doesn’t create a client relationship. For advice about your legal obligations, talk to a qualified attorney.
3. Services, prices and payment
- Prices on this site are in U.S. dollars and may change. The price in your written proposal or agreement is the one that applies.
- Scope, deliverables, timelines, payment terms, cancellation and rescheduling are set in the proposal or agreement for each project or booking.
- Audits and testing describe what I observed during the testing period. They don’t guarantee that a website, product or organization is compliant with any law, or that it will stay that way.
- Client findings are confidential. I don’t publish them or use them in my public research.
4. Workshops and talks
Workshops are educational. Ethical hacking activities are taught as permission-based problem solving, use practice materials only, and never involve real systems. Participants agree not to use what they learn to access systems or accounts without permission.
5. Using my content
The articles, research, figures, images and workshop materials on this site belong to Red Underwing, LLC unless noted otherwise. You’re welcome to quote short excerpts and share links, as long as you credit Red Underwing and link to the original article. For anything more, such as republishing an article, reusing figures or using workshop materials, please ask first.
6. Comments and messages
If you comment or send me a message, please keep it respectful and lawful. I may remove comments that are spam, abusive, off-topic, or that share someone else’s personal information.
7. Links to other sites
This site links to other websites, including sources, regulators and tools. I’m not responsible for their content or how they handle your information.
8. No warranties
I work hard to keep this site accurate and available, but it’s provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows.
9. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Red Underwing isn’t liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of this website or its content. Liability for paid services is set in the agreement for those services.

11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California.
12. Changes
I may update these terms. When I do, I’ll change the date at the top of this page.
